Ragnar Benson Construction, founded in 1922 in one of the nation’s great cities, Chicago, became part of the family of  William Charles companies in 2005. Our multi-faceted construction capabilities range from turnkey, single source general contracting to design/build and construction management.

We have been involved in many engineering projects, architectural achievements, and distinctive landmarks that contribute to our home city. In the early 1950's we constructed the William Wrigley Building and over half a century later, we were invited back for an upgraded rendition.

We were the construction company of choice for Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Prentice Women’s Hospital and Olson Pavilion Ambulatory Surgery), NICOR headquarters, Concordia University Chicago, Abbott Laboratories, Lincoln Park Zoo’s Regenstein African Journey, Sacred Heart Church, NuMi Fermilab – the list goes on and on.

Just as we have helped grow Chicago and the surrounding suburban area, we have successfully expanded our business throughout the country. Our portfolio of completed projects includes hospital construction, office construction, university renovations, school construction, factories, railroad and intermodal construction, and zoo additions in addition to corporate office buildings, airports, laboratories, retail and sports facilities.

Our team of architects, planners, engineers, estimators and construction specialists bring unique expertise and personal pride to every project; we are LEEDS certified. A testament to our track record for quality work and client satisfaction is the fact that 75 percent of our business is derived from repeat and referral customers.
